The Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune hold some of the most renowned vineyards in the world, listed as UNESCO World Heritage. The Voie des Vignes, a dedicated cycle path between Beaune and Nuits-Saint-Georges, opens them up to family cycling, away from the main road that usually runs through these villages.
A greenway through Burgundy’s finest vineyards
From Beaune, the historic capital of Burgundy wine, the greenway follows the vineyard hillside through villages whose names appear on some of the world’s most prestigious labels: Pommard, Volnay, Meursault. Expect around 40 km for a full out-and-back to Nuits-Saint-Georges, over near-flat terrain that makes this one of the most accessible family routes in the catalogue.
Getting the ride right
The surface, mostly paved or hardpacked, works well with a trailer or child seat. The path runs through several wine villages at regular intervals, making stops easy and cutting down the need for large food or water reserves.

April to October, with late September to early October — harvest season — bringing extra life to the villages along the way.
