About Best Cycling Trip
Best Cycling Trip started from a simple frustration: planning a serious cycling trip — a climb in the Alps, a gravel weekend in the Ardèche, a multi-day ride along a greenway — usually means juggling ten different tabs. One for the climb profile, one for a well-located place to stay, one to find a bike rental on the spot, another for the GPS track. This site puts all of that on a single page per route.
Who we are
We're a small team of cycling enthusiasts — road, mountain biking, gravel, bike touring — based in France. Some of us race, others ride purely for the trip itself, but we all share the same complaint: too many online guides list a climb's name without ever saying which town to start from, how long to plan for, or where to sleep without a thirty-kilometre detour the next day.
What we're trying to do
Help you plan your entire cycling trip, not just find inspiration. Every guide on the site states distance, elevation gain, real difficulty and the best season to go, then links through to well-located accommodation, nearby bike rental and, where it applies, a downloadable GPX track. The goal isn't to replace a printed guidebook or a local tourist office, but to give you a reliable starting point before you dig further.
How we work
Distance, elevation and starting towns for each route are checked before publishing, not just copied from a single source. The catalogue grows gradually, region by region, rather than publishing an incomplete or approximate list all at once — that's why some regions or countries aren't covered yet.
The site runs on affiliate links (accommodation, bike rental, gear), detailed in our legal notice. This doesn't change the price you pay, and doesn't influence what we recommend editorially.
