Family

The Cape Greco coastal path links the seaside resorts of Ayia Napa and Protaras along one of Cyprus’s most spectacular stretches of coast, between white cliffs, sea caves, and turquoise coves.

The route

From Ayia Napa harbor, the bike path follows the seafront before skirting Cape Greco National Forest Park on a stabilized trail, then continues on to Protaras, covering about 19 km one way with 150 m of combined elevation gain. The route stays largely flat, with a few gentle rises over the rocky headland.

How to approach the ride

No particular preparation needed — a city bike or hybrid with all-terrain tires is more than enough for this family-friendly route. Plenty of beaches and coves line the way for swim breaks.

When to go

October to April, since summer heat and tourist crowds make the path noticeably less pleasant in July and August. Spring and autumn bring ideal temperatures for both riding and swimming.

Good to know

The “Love Bridge,” a natural arch carved into the Cape Greco cliffs, and the surrounding sea caves, reachable on foot from several stops along the trail, are worth a photo break. Both Ayia Napa and Protaras have plenty of bike rental shops for anyone without their own.

Is the path really suitable for families?+

Yes — the route alternates a paved bike path along the Ayia Napa seafront with a stabilized trail around Cape Greco, with limited elevation gain and plenty of beaches for a swim break, making it one of the most accessible rides on the east coast.
