MTB

Vallnord Bike Park, spread across the Pal and Arinsal resorts in Andorra, has established itself as one of the most complete downhill mountain biking areas in southern Europe, regularly chosen to host World Cup rounds.

A chairlift-served area

From Pal, the Cubil chairlift gives access to a network of around twenty downhill trails that tops out at 2,350 m, for over 1,000 m of vertical drop down to the valley. Expect about 30 km of cumulative descent on a typical day, with most of the climbing handled by the lift. The terrain alternates between shaped bike park trails and more natural sections through the forest.

Getting the ride right

The full spread of levels, from green to black, lets you progress at your own pace over the day: it’s best to start on the blue trails to get your bearings before tackling the more committing, competition-honed runs. A full-face helmet and pads are essential on the black trails.

When to go

Mid-June to mid-September, the bike park’s peak-season opening window. Exact dates vary each year depending on residual snow cover in spring.

Good to know

La Massana and Arinsal offer a decent choice of accommodation at the foot of the park, with convenient access to Andorra la Vella for varying activities during an MTB trip to Andorra.
